A CHANNEL 4 news presenter has quit the station after 20 years – revealing she’s moving to a broadcaster.

has confirmed she is joining to front a new daily politics show from 7pm.

The 51-year-old will also launch a podcast and work on documentaries at her new channel.

Cathy shared the news on social media, writing: “I’m thrilled to be joining the incredible, multi-award-winning @skynews team.

“There couldn’t be a more exhilarating time to return to Westminster, and I’m hugely looking forward to bringing in exclusive interviews and investigations on a brand new programme, and launching a podcast too.

“It’s been a total privilege working on @channel4news for exactly two decades.

“I’ll miss my talented Channel 4 News colleagues enormously, but as Mary Shelley once wrote: ‘the beginning is always today’. And I can’t wait to begin again.”

Cathy’s followers were quick to comment on the exciting news, with one writing: “Congratulations Cathy, though I will miss you on Channel 4 news.”

Someone else said: “Congratulations but sad to see you leave @channel4news . You were such an integral part of the show.”

And a third added: “Congratulations. A bonus for Sky but certainly a loss for the excellent Channel 4 News.”

Cathy joined Channel 4 News in 2006 as a political correspondent after eight years writing for the Financial Times.
