Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has reflected on his side’s disappointing outing at the 2024 African Nations Championship, DAILY POST reports.

Nigeria failed to progress beyond the group stage in the competition despite their considerable pedigree.

After losing their opening two games to Senegal and Sudan, the Eagles concluded their participation with a 2-0 victory over Congo.

Nigeria overpowered the Congolese, scoring twice in the second half through Anas Yusuf and Sikiru Alimi.

Chelle praised his players for fighting hard to secure the win.

“They played with honour and showed what they could really do. Our only big regret remains the heavy defeat to Sudan, but that’s football,” Chelle was quoted by CAFonline.
