Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has admitted that Declan Rice's free-kick was the turning point of their Champions League quarter-final first leg tie on Tuesday.

Rice fired in two free-kicks within 13 second-half minutes to send the Gunners on their way to a big win at the Emirates.

The hosts added a third through Mikel Merino's sweeping finish with 14 minutes left.

Ancelotti has now applauded Arsenal's performance and concede they were the better team on the night.

β€œThe result means that Arsenal were much better than us,” Ancelotti told Amazon Prime.

β€œThe game was a bit different.

β€œFor 60 minutes the game was level, and then they shoot two fantastic free-kicks. The game it changes.

β€œNow it will be very difficult in the second leg. But we have to try.

β€œThe reaction, mentally we went down. We had a problem in the final 30 minutes of the game.”
