Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez has heaped praises on midfielder Ilkay Gundogan following his side’s UEFA Champions League 5-0 win over Royal Antwerp on Tuesday night.
Xavi said Gundogan, who joined Barcelona from Manchester City, is a gift from God, adding that the German is a superlative footballer.
“He [Gundogan] is the same as Gavi, he can play on the right, left, at the base [of midfield]… When he has the ball everything improves,” Xavi told Marca.
“He has fallen to us from heaven. He is a superlative footballer. It is wonderful to see him play.”
Barcelona’s next fixture is against Celta Vigo in the La Liga on Saturday.
Xavi’s men will face FC Porto in the Champions League next month.
