Cha Hak Yeon has shared more insights into his role in the upcoming MBC drama “Oh My Ghost Clients”;;!
“Oh My Ghost Clients”;; is a comedy-action drama starring Jung Kyung Ho as Noh Moo Jin, a labor attorney who can see ghosts.
Cha Hak Yeon stars as Go Kyun Woo, an eccentric and cheerful video creator who helps Noh Moo Jin bring various labor issues to light. Regarding the charm of Go Kyun Woo, Cha Hak Yeon shared, “At times, he seems like a lighthearted airhead, but he’s quick to judge situations and even plays a key role in finding solutions during crises. I was drawn to the character because of his unique charm—he feels like a refreshing and addictive ‘sparkling drink’ that clears away blockages. Since the drama deals with heavy topics, there are a lot of serious moments, but Kyun Woo’s presence adds a touch of humor, which I really liked.”;;
To fully embody Kyun Woo’s attention-seeking persona, Cha Hak Yeon went the extra mile in preparation. “I practiced live streaming at home alone in front of my computer, pretending that many viewers were waiting. I set up a tripod, phone, and lights, and recorded myself repeatedly to get closer to the character. The opening lines were always the hardest, and I failed a lot at first, but thankfully, by the time we got closer to actual filming, I was comfortable and natural. I hope people look forward to the ‘Kyunzzang TV’ scenes in the drama,”;; he said. “Kyun Woo also wears vivid colors and bold patterns in his everyday outfits, so I hope viewers enjoy his fashion style as well.”;;
Cha Hak Yeon described the character Kyun Woo as “a challenge”;; for him. “While playing Kyun Woo—who is funny and upbeat—I found myself wondering how to make sure he doesn’t come across as shallow. Through that process, I came to understand, even just a little, why senior actors say that comedic acting is difficult.”;;
Cha Hak Yeon further noted how his co-stars Jung Kyung Ho and Seol In Ah became a major source of strength. In the drama, Noh Moo Jin, Na Hee Joo (Seol In Ah), and Go Kyun Woo form a tight-knit trio called “Moojins”;; who work together to resolve labor-related issues. He shared, “What drew me to the project, aside from the fun script, was the anticipation that I could create something truly enjoyable with the ‘Moojins’ members. On set, Jung Kyung Ho led the team well, and I’m really grateful for how he and Seol In Ah kept the conversations going—it made each scene fun to work on.”;;
