CELTIC star Jota suffered a bizarre accident as a fan’s flag got tangled around his neck on his FIRST MATCH back from injury.
The winger had been sidelined since May 2025 with a knee injury that required surgery on his ligaments.


And thus the ex-Portugal youth international missed the entirety of the 2025/26 campaign.
However, Jota finally made his long-awaited return for the Hoops today in the Scottish Premiership match at .
The forward came on in the 74th minute as a second-half substitute after replacing Sebastian Tounekti.
But just 12 minutes later, Jota chased a loose ball for a free throw close to the stands.
And that is when a Motherwell fan’s flag fell all over his head as he tried to pick up the ball.
But that wasn’t the end of the Celtic ace’s troubles as a piece of string attached to the flag got wrapped around his neck.
Jota thankfully managed to quickly get himself untangled but appeared visibly perplexed by the barely-believable situation.
The ex- star, who’s on his second stint at Celtic Park following his return last year, helped his team pick up an important 2-0 win.













The visitors got the victory thanks to goals by Camilo Duran and Benjamin Nygren.
And Jota thankfully finished the game without any further issues following a long injury hell.
