THE CELEBRITY Traitors is back, with the series two launch episode bringing in peak numbers of a whopping 9.1 million viewers.

Fans are starting to get used to the 21 star-studded names that entered for the second series of the hit BBC show. But are the celebs being paid for taking part?

Do Celebrity Traitors get paid?

Despite having the same concept, location and even host in , there is a significant difference between what the contestants of The Traitors are paid and its celeb spin-off.

For the classic version of the show, those taking part get around £100 per day to cover their expenses, with no extra fee being offered as payment.

On the other hand, according to the Daily Mail , each star taking part in The Celebrity Traitors is given a .

However, one major difference between the shows is that the contestants of the celeb spin-off don’t keep any of the ; instead, it goes to the winner’s chosen charity.

We saw this in series one when eventual champion of deception Alan Carr – which received the entire sum of the winnings.

The stars taking part often make up for this by the immensely popular show brings, with millions of fans tuning in to watch every episode.

Almost all participants have new acting roles, songs, music, books, etc., planned to be launched just before, during or after the series airs.

Examples of which include Love Island star starring in the second series of The Gentleman just weeks before the show’s premiere, as well as releasing her debut solo album in Spring.

When is the Celebrity Traitors on?

Series two of is now in full swing, as we find ourselves two episodes deep with plenty of shock moments already taking place.

With the three Traitors being revealed and the first murder taking place, the fun is just getting started as we prepare ourselves for the rest of the season.

New episodes of the BBC showpiece launch at 8pm every Thursday and Friday until the finale at the end of the month.

Fancy testing whether you would make a better Faithful or Traitor?

The Traitors official board game lets fans recreate some of the deception and backstabbing from the hit TV show at home.

Players take on missions to build up gold for the prize fund, while the Traitor secretly tries to earn the power to “murder” another player at night.

The Faithfuls must work out who is lying and attempt to banish the Traitor at the Round Table before it is too late.

At the end, the two players with the most gold compete for the prize fund – with a final decision over whether to share the winnings or try to take the lot.

Made by Goliath, the game is suitable for four to six players aged 12 and over.
