said: “I’ve broken nearly every bone in my body, I do suffer with osteoporosis.
“But I did have a fall while I was looking after the grandchildren and making sure they weren’t going to jump in the swimming pool without their life jackets on.
“I’d got them all red ice lollies but one of them was orange, and you can’t do that with our boys, so I had to walk backwards to try and get to the fridge to get another red one.
“And I walked right into a big wooden toy box. I think I’ve cracked my ribs… I know I’ve cracked my ribs because I know the pain.”
Carol, who also shares sons , 39, and Josh, 36, with husband Mark Wright Snr, continued: “Apparently there’s nothing they can do apart from give you really strong painkillers.
“That’s why I look a bit dosed up today. I’m in terrible pain.”
Fans rushed to send messages to Carol, with one writing: “Take it easy, I hope you feel better soon.”
And someone else said: “Oh Carol I fractured a couple of ribs a couple of years ago and it was sooo painful. Wish you better sending love.”
Carol and Big Mark, 69, have four grandchildren to keep them busy. Mark and wife are parents to one-year-old daughter Palma.
Footballer Josh and his wife Hollie Kane share sons Joshua, four, and Dustin, three. And Jess and her husband William Lee-Kemp are parents to four-year-old son Presley.
Carol is a proud grandmother and often shares sweet social media tributes to the kids.
When Mark and Michelle welcomed Palma last year, she wrote: “We are in love with you beautiful baby girl thank you Michelle and Mark for this wonderful gift X.”
