CARDIFF CITY have had their £104million compensation claim over the death of Emiliano Sala in 2019 dismissed by a court in France.

Sala died in a plane crash aged 28 along with pilot David Ibbotson while flying in to sign for the Bluebirds in a £15m deal.

The football world was left in mourning after tragic news that Sala’s plane had crashed into the English channel.

Cardiff have been claiming for damages and loss of income in a long-running dispute with Nantes.

Their claimed was based around the belief that the striker could have kept them in the Premier League that season.

But the Welsh club have now lost their case after a court in Nantes ruled against them.

Cardiff have also been told to pay £400,000 in legal fees and moral damages suffered by Nantes.
