Both acknowledge they are headed towards the final chapter of their storied careers – but talked down retiring just yet.

“I don’t know if this is the last big fight or if great things lie ahead,” Canelo said through a press conference translator.

“I can tell you what, I’m focussed on this fight, all I care about is this fight. I’m enjoying this historic fight and this opportunity.

“I’m enjoying this one because we don’t know about the future or what lies ahead.”

Crawford – undefeated in 41 fights with titles in FOUR divisions – remained just as cool.

“I’m not focussed on that right now,” he said.

“I’m focussed on the task at hand, I’m dialled in. My only mission is Canelo. That’s it.”
