The midfielder appeared to have broken his leg following a challenge by Assim Madibo, who was left in tears.
Jonathan David netted a hat-trick for the co-hosts as they ran out 6-0 winners against the Qataris, who had two men sent off.
The win keeps them level on points with Switzerland, who beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-1 earlier today.
