Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George has admitted that his team lost to a better side following the 3-0 defeat to Moroccan side RS Berkane
The Port Harcourt club made history as the first club to finish their group stage campaign with a win
Rivers United garnered only one point from six matches.
Finidi assured that the team will return stronger if they qualify next season.
“RS Berkane were the better side, they dominated and created all the chances in the game as we tried to match them in the second half but we failed,” Finidi stated in a post-match interview.
“We have to congratulate Berkane as we tried to do better in the tournament but it wasn’t possible, if we come back next season we are going to be stronger as its a learning process for us.”
