THE critics call it a ‘farmer’s league’ but when it comes to emerging talent, the Bundesliga is ripe for harvesting.

And while the cynics will sneer at Wirtz’s struggles adapting to the pace and physicality of the Prem, you only have to look at the rise of team-mate and export this season to see the potential in Germany.
Here, we bring you the lowdown on the next batch of Bundesliga talent, 11 players who should be on the radar of English clubs, including one who is already tied to Tottenham.
LENNART KARL (17, Bayern Munich, Attacking midfielder)

The hottest property in the Bundesliga this season and the player that has got everyone talking in Germany.
Came through the Bayern academy, he is now breaking into the first team and knocking on the door of the national side. described him as “a fantastic player” and one who “will have a great future”.
Karl produced a wonder goal in the against Club Bruges but that came as little surprise.
As a 10-year-old, he went viral for scoring a worldy for Frankfurt Under-11s, controlling the ball with his heel and volleying in. There is no doubting the talent but wrestling him away from Bayern will be very difficult.
YAN DIOMANDE (19, RB Leipzig, Winger)

The first of four Leipzig players on our list. Missing out on Europe has forced the East German club to show faith in their youngsters. And they have discovered an absolute diamond in Diomande.
The Ivory Coast winger has three goals and three assists in his last three games for Leipzig and has been clocked at a rapid 22mph.
must be kicking themselves after they turned him down following a trial. Now he is being linked with , , Liverpool, Manchester City, PSG, and Real Madrid.
SAID EL MALA (19, Cologne, Winger)

Newly-promoted Cologne have surprised a few this season and part of that has been down to German starlet El Mala.
At 6ft 2in, he bucks the trend of the traditional winger but he is quick footed and lethal. Has played 10 games this season but started only three, yet his cameos have yielded four goals and an assist.
National boss ignored the clamour for Lennart Karl in this international break and, instead, handed El Mala a senior call-up, which says it all.
HUGO LARSSON (21, Frankfurt, Midfielder)

Tall, athletic and a dominant force in midfield, yet he is still scared of his mum! After impressing last season, Larsson was presented with a lucrative offer from but his mother put the block on it.
He said: “I called my mum and got a scolding for even thinking about it.”
But it will not be long before Larsson is on the move, with Liverpool monitoring his situation. will get to work with him in the squad, although injury has forced his withdrawal from international duty this month.
ASSAN OUEDRAOGO (19, RB Leipzig, Midfielder)

Sounds like a character from but is actually a 6ft 3in powerhouse in central midfield.
Signed from in July 2024, he has broken through this season with two goals and four assists. Also found the net for Germany’s Under-21s against Northern Ireland last month.
Won the European Under-17 Championships in 2023, showing nerves of steel to score the decisive penalty in the shootout with France.
LUKA VUSKOVIC (18, Hamburg, Defender)

On loan from Tottenham, the Croat has been outstanding for Hamburg in their first season back in the Bundesliga after a seven-year absence.
Spurs boss will be delighted to hear of his progress. Vuskovic is top of the league for aerial duels won with 59, is fifth for ground duels won with 107 and kept Dortmund’s quiet last Saturday.
Perhaps, more impressively, he has been named the Bundesliga’s Rookie of the Month two times running in September and October.
NATHANIEL BROWN (22, Frankfurt, Left-Back)

An unknown quantity last season but a big reason why Eintracht qualified for the Champions League, scoring three goals and creating seven assists from a left wing-back position.
His stock is rising rapidly, with , Arsenal and all linked with the German international.
Frankfurt are fast becoming a famed factory for footballing talent and Brown will not be there for much longer if he continues the way he has.
ANTONIO NUSA (20, RB Leipzig, Winger)

pulled the plug on a deal for him in 2024 which might prove costly, considering Arsenal are now being linked.
Likened to , Nusa became the second youngest Champions League scorer at 17 years and 149 days when he netted on his Club Bruges debut against in 2022.
Now thriving at Leipzig, he is a player who, by his own admission, “likes to cause chaos”.
IBRAHIM MAZA (19, Leverkusen, Attacking Midfielder)

What a week for the Leverkusen youngster. The Algerian was named man of the match in the Champions League victory against and then followed that with two goals in a 6-0 win over Heidenheim.
In that game, he operated in a deeper midfield role due to Leverkusen’s injuries but it showed his versatility and he is equally at home on the right wing as he is in a central attacking midfield role.
Inevitably, the comparisons with Florian Wirtz have already started.
CASTELLO LUKEBA (22, RB Leipzig, Defender)

The man Leipzig signed to replace when he departed for Manchester City. Frenchman Lukeba was a silver medallist at the Paris Olympics and has been a towering presence this season as a left-sided central defender.
It was a toss up between him and team-mate El Chadaille Bitshiabu as to who to include in this list, such is the depth of young talent at Leipzig.
But as Lukeba missed the last league game and Leipzig lost 3-1 to , his absence was clearly felt.
CAN UZUN (20, Frankfurt, Attacking Midfielder)

The new Ekitike or the new Marmoush or maybe just simply the latest attacking playmaker to come off the Frankfurt conveyor belt.
Started the season on fire, scoring five goals in his first five games and has added four assists to his tally as well.
Can operate on the left side as well as through the centre, the Turkish ace has generated interest from Tottenham, although a muscle injury means he is currently sidelined.
