Abia State government has postponed the official launch of the Abia State Integrated Wash Accelerated Programme, AIWAP, and the flag-off of the rehabilitation of Aba regional water scheme earlier scheduled to hold today in the State.

The postponement, according to the State government, is as a result of the public holiday declared by the Federal government in honour of late former President, Muhammadu Buhari, who is billed to be buried today.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, who broke the latest news in a midnight press release, explained that the launching and the flag-off of the projects will now hold tomorrow, Wednesday.

The government said it regretted all inconveniences caused by the postponement to the public.

Meanwhile, Governor Alex Otti in his reaction to the death of former President Buhari, described it as “sad news”;.
