Bruno Guimaraes Arrives at Newcastle Pre-Season Camp as Arsenal Target Plans to Submit Transfer Request in Person

BRUNO GUIMARAES landed at Newcastle’s Spanish training camp as talks rumble on over a move to Arsenal.

He has his the Gunners, who are readying a £75million-plus move for the midfielder as the two parties haggle over a fee.

Guimaraes is under contract until 2029 but wants out following the departures of boss Eddie Howe and stars such as Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali.

The Samba ace is due for a meeting with Jaissle, who is set to be confirmed as on Monday, and sporting director Ross Wilson in La Manga after returning from an extended break following his World Cup exploits.

He will inform them of his wish to leave after four years at St James’ Park and sign for Mikel Arteta’s Premier League champions.

Toon chiefs still insist they are from Arsenal for Guimaraes and are naturally reluctant to lose their talisman.

But confidence is mounting within the Gunners camp that an offer north of £75m will get things progressing amid claims from the star’s homeland he has agreed personal terms.

German Jaissle, 38, only arrived in La Manga on Saturday himself to meet his new squad after penning a four-year deal.

Jaissle has a week with his new side before facing Valencia at the Mestalla on Saturday before returning to the UK to face Everton at Murrayfield four days later.

But is not the only player he faces potential showdown talks with.

Fellow midfielder Joelinton, 29, is also believed to have interest from the Middle East as he weighs up his own future alongside his close pal and compatriot.

And England international Nick Pope, 34, faces an awkward chat as Jaissle prepares to announce Czech goalie Lukas Hornicek as his first signing.

Hornicek, the fifth arrival at Toon this summer, is expected to take over Pope’s role as No1 on Tyneside.

And he will have Ewen Jaouen, the 20-year-old from Reims, as backup.

Toon’s new-look squad has also been bolstered with exciting young guns such as midfielders Aladji Bamba, 20, and Sean Steur, 18, and explosive winger Bazoumana Toure, 20, as part of a £140m summer splurge.
