Majorca said the two were arrested following an attempted broad-daylight abduction in Son Ferriol.

The elderly woman was waiting for a relative by a roundabout in Son Ferriol when the Brit couple’s car arrived.

They told their alleged victim to get inside the vehicle but when she refused, the female suspect got out and grabbed the woman forcefully by the arm, it is alleged.

The Brit woman allegedly pushed her target towards the car and told her: “Get in.”

A struggle then ensued before the alleged victim managed to free herself.

She ran towards her home while she was being chased by the Brit woman who eventually caught up with her.

A second bust-up then took place where the suspect tried to force her into the vehicle yet again, it is alleged.

The woman started screaming for help before her husband managed to come to her rescue.

He and a nearby worker were able to free her from the Brit woman.

Local cops said: “Several police patrols went to Son Ferriol after receiving reports a couple was trying to force a woman in her sixties into the car they were driving.

“Officers found the woman very affected with multiple bruises when they arrived.”

The alleged victim’s husband and several witnesses came to her aid when they saw what was happening.

This caused the Brit couple to flee the scene in their vehicle.

Bystanders described the suspects and authorities searched the nearby area.

Cops added: “The woman targeted was taken to hospital so she could be treated for the injuries she had suffered.”

The daughter of the woman allegedly targeted, told local media the female suspect was wearing pyjamas.

She said: “She was waiting for me because we were going to see my niece in a competition.

“A white car pulled up alongside her and the driver, who was wearing pyjamas, and started trying to force her into the vehicle while shouting aggressively, ‘I’m telling you to get in.’”

She added: “I was surprised at first not to see mum when I arrived because she’s always waiting for me at the same spot.

“When I saw such a large crowd gathered, I got out of the car and saw my mother lying on the ground.

“She suffered bruises all over her body, but her neck is hurting the most.”

Police confirmed afterwards the suspects were British and aged in their early forties.

Authorities said they were still trying to establish their possible motive.

Reports claimed the pair could have been trying to rob their victim after spotting her alone.

The couple are said to have been living in the area for around two years.

The Brits are due to appear at the Audiencia Provincial Court in Palma on Thursday.
