A BRITISH man has been left fighting for his life after a crash between a motorbike and a car in northern Spain.

Cops have launched a probe after the 64-year-old motorist smashed “head-on” into a car driven by a Spanish woman on a road in the Pyrenees.

The horror accident unfolded at 7:40am on Friday morning.

The Brit had been driving along the N-260 road in Huesca when he crashed into a car driven by a 50-year-old Spanish woman.

Emergency services raced to the scene to find him severely injured.

The man was rushed first by ambulance and then by emergency helicopter to Arnau de Vilanova Hospital.

Miraculously, the Spanish woman escaped the crash unharmed.

The identity of the man has not yet been made public and it is unclear whether he was travelling alone or with others.

Hospital staff have not offered updates on the Brit’s condition except to say that it is “very serious”.

The Civil Guard have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash on the scenic N-260 road.

The N-260 is a historic 300-mile highway running from the French border at Portbou to the town of Sabinanigo in Huesca.

Just last week a British man died while paragliding over the Pyrenees.

The 63-year-old plummeted to his death after reportedly becoming .

The paraglider had been flying over the historic village of Palau de Noguera in the Catalan province of Lleida.

Firefighters and fire engines raced to the scene of the horror accident after receiving an emergency call at 1:20pm on June 17.

They said they found the Brit “seriously injured” and tried to save him with first aid.

But sadly the man died of his injuries.

Cops have launched a probe but say that the fatal fall is being treated as an accident.
