A BRITISH cyclist has died after collapsing during the Tour of Flanders race.
The man, 51, was competing in the amateur sportive in Belgium alongside his son when he suffered a likely heart attack.

Event organiser Gert Van Goolen said the medical team rushed to where the Brit had collapsed during the race.
“A medical team was quickly on the scene and was able to resuscitate him,” Van Goolen said in a statement to Radio 1.
“Unfortunately, the man died at the scene.”
“This is the last thing you want as an organization. You hope that 14,000 people can have a nice day here and you know there are risks, but you really don’t want this.”
Two other competitors also need resuscitating during the race.
A 57-year-old Dutch man and a second British rider were taken to hospital in separate incidents.
The We Ride Flanders tour features a 150miles route starting in Antwerp and ending in Oudenaarde as well as other ride distances – 49miles, 82miles and 101miles.
