A BRITISH comedian has postponed her entire UK tour after ‘personal family news’.
Laura Smyth, 44, who has appeared on 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Live at the Apollo, took to her Instagram page to apologise to fans about her decision.
The funny woman was supposed to take to the stage in Lincoln on Thursday (24 September) as part of her UK tour Laura Smyth: Born Aggy.
Laura was then due to perform in various other venues around the UK and it was set to wrap up in Salford on November 22.
However she has had to cancel all of those shows.
Laura told her 82.2k followers: “I am absolutely gutted to announce that my upcoming tour has to be postponed.
“My team and I have tried everything to make the tour go ahead as scheduled.
“This isn’t a decision I’ve taken lightly, but due to some recent personal family news I now need to be close to home.
“I am so grateful to everyone who has bought the tickets and have been as excited as me about the tour.
“I appreciate this news will be frustrating and am so sorry for any inconvenience this postponement causes.
“I am looking forward to being able to update you with the new dates as soon as possible – all tickets will be transferable of course.
“I will also be taking some time away from social media, but hope to stay in contact through the podcast, and other work I can do during this time.
“I appreciate you all so much. Going back on tour has felt like looking forward to catching up with mates – we just have to wait a little longer.
“Love you all and thank you for your patience and understanding.”
She captioned the post: “This has not been an easy decision. X.”
Laura has been as a comedian over the past five years.
She describes herself as a “comedian, writer and actor”, according to her Instagram bio.
Laura has also starred in Netflix’s Baby Reindeer in 2024 and took part in Celebrity Hunted Stand Up To Cancer this year.
Prior to working in the industry, she worked as an English teacher.
