CHAOS has erupted at a major airport after all flights were cancelled, with passengers left “screaming”.
“Emergency repairs” are needed on the runway at Bristol Airport.

Airport Webcams said on X that inbound flights are diverted to London/Gatwick, Birmingham and Cardiff airports.
Airport Webcams said: “Airport currently closed for emergency runway repairs. Inbounds diverting to London/Gatwick, Birmingham & Cardiff.”
Richard Broadbent, along with his partner and daughter, were due to fly to Newcastle at around 7pm but were stuck at the airport.
He told the BBC : “She said suddenly all flights were cancelled and all passengers were moved to one place down at ground level, and it was absolutely packed.
“Then alarms started going off, people were screaming and passengers were trying to break out, there was no staff.
“She was ever so upset, I could hear people screaming on the phone.”
A Bristol Airport spokesperson said in a statement posted to their website: “Due to a defect on the runway, we have temporarily suspended operations as a precaution, in order to inspect and repair the section affected.
“We apologise for any inconvenience. Safety is always our number one priority. Customers should refer to their airlines with any flight queries.
“All flights are currently suspended until at least 06:00 tomorrow morning (Saturday 8 August).”
