Need more from Netflix’s period masterpiece? You’ve got it! Bridgerton season 4 is officially happening, and here’s everything we know so far.

We’re still waiting for Bridgerton season 2, but Netflix offered some exciting news. Not only is season 3 happening, but so is Bridgerton season 4. It’s not often we get a renewal like this, but it’s certainly something Netflix should consider in the future.

With only just getting the renewal, there isn’t much information to work with. However, it is possible to guess the book the season will follow, which means a guess about returning characters.

Here’s what we know about Bridgerton season 4 right now, with updates to come as they happen.

Bridgerton season 4 release date

There isn’t a release date just yet. The season hasn’t been filmed yet, so Netflix won’t set a date. There are still two other seasons to be released before it.

With the early renewal, there is some good news. The pre-production work can start early, and filming could run back-to-back with season 3 filming. This could help to keep the wait to a minimum. The longest we’re probably waiting is until 2024.

Bridgerton season 4 cast

This season is likely to follow the fourth book, Romancing Mister Bridgerton. It follows Penelope Featherington, which gives us a clue that Nicola Coughlan will be in this season.

Penelope has spent time watching Colin Bridgerton from afar, and he is the love interest for this book. That means Luke Newton will be involved in the season.

It’s hard to say who else from the previous seasons will return. We’ll likely see the other Bridgerton siblings, but don’t expect to see Regé-Jean Page return as Simon Basset. He isn’t going to be part of season 2 due to not having a major role in the story.

Of course, with nothing filmed, there isn’t a trailer just yet. We can’t expect that until about a month or two before the release date. In fact, the trailer usually reveals the release date.

Bridgerton season 4 synopsis

Since the first two seasons are following the first two books, we can hazard a guess that season 3 will follow the third book, and Bridgerton season 4 will follow the fourth book.

Penelope Featherington is the main focus of the novel. For years, she’s secretly adored Colin Bridgerton, the brother of her best friend. She thinks she knows everything about him, but soon she learns of dark secrets she never knew.

Colin looks to be just an empty-headed boy, and he’s tired that this is society’s view of him. When he returns from a trip abroad, everything changes for him. Penelope haunts his dreams, but is she a threat or his happily ever after?
