A BRIDE-TO-BE has been killed on the eve of her wedding after an alleged drunk driver smashed into her motorcycle and left her daughter with serious injuries.

Adueli de Oliverira Rosa, 29, was riding her motorcycle with her 14-year-old daughter when a pickup truck crashed into them in Brazil.

The driver admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the day before smashing into the mother and daughter, cops said.

Despite efforts of the emergency agencies, Rosa suffered multiple injuries and went into cardiac arrest.

She was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Her teenage daughter was intubated at the roadside and taken to hospital in a critical condition with head, chest and facial injuries.

Members of the deceased bride-to-be’s family said wedding preparations were complete with the ceremony scheduled for June 29 – the day after the fatal crash.

Her sister, Kharol Rosa, said: “Everything was ready for the wedding. She had already bought her wedding dress and heels.

“She stayed up late yesterday, arranging the furniture in the house where they were going to live.

“She was very tired but happy and was on her way to work when this reckless incident happened.”

Rosa had also recently celebrated her 29th birthday just days before on June 26.

The pair were travelling down the Avenida Cristovao Colombo when the Mitsubishi pick up truck, travelling in the opposite direction, attempted to make a left a left turn.

The pickup truck crossed directly into the path of the oncoming motorcycle and the vehicles fatally collided.

The truck driver underwent a breathalyser test and was fined for driving under the influence.

Brazil has a strict no-tolerance police, meaning any measurable amount of alcohol in a drivers system is illegal.

However, because the reading was below the threshold for an automatic arrest in Brazil, he was released after giving a statement to police.

The driver will face charges for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The case is now under investigation by local authorities.

In April this year, a drunk driver killed two children who were playing jump rope in a horror smash where he lost control of his vehicle in Greater Sao Paulo.

Two of the children, five-year-old Izaias, and 10-year-old Sophya, sadly died at the scene.

Investigators confirmed he had been drunk after carrying out a breathalyser, according to local reports.

He was charged with intentional homicide and bodily harm.
