A 15-YEAR-OLD boy was rushed to hospital after being shot in a park – with police launching a manhunt for the gunman.

Paramedics were called to Ward End Park in Birmingham just before 10pm on Friday (April 10).

Armed officers are understood to have been scrambled to the scene and initially gave the boy first aid.

The teenager – found near the Foxton Road entrance – was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds, where he remains in a stable condition, according to West Midlands Police.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Our Major Crime Unit (MCU) is investigating, including the review of CCTV in and around the park.

Detective Superintendent Ryan Chambers, from our MCU, said: β€œThis appears to be an isolated incident and there will be an increased police presence in the area to assist with the investigation and reassure the community.”
