A YOUNG boy who tragically died after being hit by a van has been named and pictured.

Harrison Glynne Jones, 6, was riding his bike just metres from his home in Conwy county, Wales, when he was struck by a white Ford Transit Tipper.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 5pm on Thursday, but Harrison was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

North Wales Police arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of driving offences and was later released under investigation.

A probe into the crash is ongoing, with cops urging any witnesses to come forward.

His family have paid tribute to their “beautiful” boy who they described as “full of character with a personality that could light up a room”.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by Kate Jones to help cover Harrison’s funeral costs.

The money will also go towards household bills and essential expenses while his parents take time away from work to grieve.

Funds have reached nearly £20,000 so far.

Kate said: “Our family’s world was changed forever when Kayleigh and Daryl’s beautiful six-year-old son Harrison was tragically hit by a vehicle outside of his own home and sadly passed away at the scene in front of his family.

“There are no words that can truly describe the heartbreak and devastation his parents, sisters and our whole family are experiencing.

“A child should never be taken from their family so suddenly, under such tragic circumstances and we are all struggling to come to terms with this unimaginable loss.

“Harrison’s mum and dad are facing the unimaginable task of saying goodbye to their precious little boy, while trying to somehow navigate life without him so we have set up this fundraiser to help Harrison’s parents through the difficult weeks and months ahead.”

At the time of the horrific crash, Detective Inspector Tim Evans from North Wales Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the young boy’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.

“An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing.

“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time, to contact us by calling 101, quoting reference O162122.”
