A 14-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested months after a four-year-old girl was seriously injured by an e-scooter in a hit-and-run collision.
were called to reports that a young girl had been hit by a boy riding an e-scooter in a park in Fleet, Hampshire, on Saturday, June 20.
The little girl, identified as Ottilie Freeman, was rushed to hospital and received treatment for a serious head injury.
She reportedly suffered a fractured skull and a concussion in the collision.
Police said the boy on the scooter did not stop at the scene of the horror crash.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has today confirmed that a 14-year-old boy has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
The teen was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third party .
He was also arrested on suspicion of being the driver of a vehicle involved in a road accident and failing to report that accident.
He remains in custody while an into the hit-and-run continues.

Ottilie’s parents previously recounted the harrowing accident in an interview.
Speaking to ITV News her dad said: “Otts was sort of walking along the grassy verge by the tennis , tapping the wooden bars, and I was sort of walking in this service road, no traffic.
“Of course I feel terrible, I stepped forward, she steps into the road, and yeah before I knew it I heard this zipping noise and I sort of then turned fully and there was this young lad on his escooter.
“I shouted, you know, ‘Otts!’, she sort of ran in response to my shout and of course she changed direction , he moved with her and the next thing I know he’d knocked her flying.”
