Boxing legend, George Foreman, has passed away at the age of 76.

His family confirmed the sad news on Friday night.

“Our hearts are broken. With profound sorrow, we announced the passing of our beloved George Edward Foreman St. who peacefully departed on March 21, 2025 surrounded by loved ones,” a statement on Foreman's Instagram account read.

The statement also asked “for privacy as we honor the extraordinary life of a man we were blessed to call our own.”

Foreman, who was a two-time world heavyweight champion, also won Olympic gold in 1968.

He fought in two of the most iconic bouts of all time. In 1971, he took on Joe Frazier in ‘The Fight of the Century'. And three years later, he faced Muhammad Ali in ‘The Rumble in the Jungle'.

Foreman retired from boxing in 1997, having lost only five fights during his career.
