Temper, 32, told SunSport: “Mentally I went through some very, very, very dark stuff. I went through the darkest chapter of my life.

“AndI’m really grateful for it because it taught me a lot. Man, I went through hell and back.

“Boxing has helped me so much. It’s crazy because at a time when I really needed it, boxing’s been my saving grace before, but this time on a whole different scale.

“You get those endorphins. You kill yourself in the gym and you feel amazing the rest of the day. It’s like I’m good for the rest of the day. My endorphins are up, like my dopamine is up.

“It doesn’t matter all the s*** that that I was facing, that I’m facing I feel a lot better versus not going to the gym.”

“I saw his fight from four years ago but he was out of shape and that was four years ago. And I haven’t really seen s*** since.

“So I’m sure he’s gotten probably a lot better, but I just feel a lot more confident in my abilities and everything I’ve been working on, especially these last few months.”
