A DIRECTOR of a holiday company and his son have been exposed as the two reps booted off a school ski trip following complaints of boozed up bad behaviour.

Marcus Bishop – the director of TM Ski (the company which organised the trip) – and his adult son Hamish, who works for the firm, were named as the pair of company representatives who caused chaos on the break trip.

The duo were left behind at a Swiss service station on the return leg of Acle Academy’s half-term expedition to the Italian Alps after raised concerns about their antics.

Staff said the father and son had been drinking , playing music and trying to get students to sing along with them, as well as making rude remarks towards a teacher and a pupil.

After a blow-out argument during a scheduled stop, teachers refused to let them back on the bus.

The tour group subsequently left without them.

Since returning to , the school has launched an internal , and it has been reported to Norfolk Police.

A police spokeswoman said cops were reviewing the information; however, she added that any potential criminal offences would fall outside its jurisdiction, as the incident took place overseas.

Parents have joined the chorus of complaints in the aftermath of the ordeal, asking why the two men were on the bus at all.

One parent whose child had been seated close to the pair on the coach said they were “grateful for the teachers” for acting swiftly, “but grown men who had been drinking alcohol should not have been permitted to travel on an overnight coach with young children”.

The parent – who has not been named – questioned whether Marcus Bishop’s status as company director had resulted in the situation unfolding.

They told local media that the pre-arranged travel plans had not included the pair returning with the school trip.

“I am not the only one concerned that this was allowed to happen,” they said.

Another parent – who also requested anonymity – said: “I applaud the teachers for removing them”.

“I don’t think they should have been allowed on in the first place given it was not part of the plan,” they added.

“It is a shame that two adults working with children could not behave appropriately, especially as staff had ensured the children had a brilliant week away before this happened.”

The nightmare ordeal unfolded on February 22 as two coaches carrying 50 students and 10 staff members were returning from Passo del Tonale in northern .

Teachers said the pair had brought their own wine onto the bus and proceeded to drink on the journey.

Despite desperate pleas from the teachers to quieten down, the two continued to cause chaos.

The situation escalated when inappropriate language was allegedly used about a staff member before a derogatory remark was made about one of the young students.

Senior staff on the bus were alerted and following the scheduled stop in at 10.20pm, the pair were barred from boarding the bus.

Assistant Principal Rob McCombe sent an emergency message to parents that evening, saying the behaviour had been “inappropriate and unprofessional”.

He said decisive action had been taken out of duty of care for the children.

He also added there had been “nothing of a sexual or physical nature”.

The two men had not been on the outward journey to .

A message to parents said they had requested to return to the UK with the school coach during the week, suggesting that their presence had not been included in the original written risk assessment for the trip.

The ordeal has since been referred to Norfolk County Council’s Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO).

A spokesperson from Norfolk County Council said: “The LADO’s role is to ensure that concerns are handled promptly, fairly and confidentially and that the appropriate safeguarding procedures are followed.”

A formal complaint has also been lodged to TM Ski.

Prior to being exposed as the accused disturbance, Bishop confirmed two staff members had been ejected from the bus.

In a statement, he said the two representatives had been reprimanded for their actions.

“You know as well as I do that kids can exaggerate things,” he claimed.

He declined to comment when asked why he did not declare the incident had involved himself and his son.
