A serving soldier has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a dismissed military man to death during a late-night argument in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Security analyst, Zagazola Makama, disclosed this in a post on X on Saturday.
He said the incident happened around 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, in the Kasuwan Fara area of the city.
The suspect, a Lance Corporal serving with the Nigerian Army’s 7 Division, reportedly got into a heated argument with the victim, Musa Adamu, who was a former soldier.
During the fight, the Lance Corporal allegedly stabbed Musa in the chest with a jackknife.
“The victim was rushed to the Borno State Specialist Hospital but was confirmed dead by doctors. His body has been taken to the hospital morgue for autopsy,”; Makama wrote.
According to the report, a senior army officer later handed the suspect over to the police on Friday.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a full investigation and possible court action.
