A YOUNG woman has opened up on a rare medical condition that means her boobs won’t stop growing.
, 25, revealed that she has been diagnosed with , a type of breast hypertrophy which sees her become excessively large over time.

The Scottish woman explained that she has spent years being harassed in public over the size of her and has also been dismissed by doctors.
However, one of the worst parts is the amount of cash she is forced to spend on .
Not only does Summer have to fork out hundreds of pounds on custom size 0 , but she even paid £800 for a bra, only for it to break within just weeks of wearing it.
The told Daily Mail : “I once bought a custom bra from a local shop for £800, it funnily enough broke in a month like they all do.
“My bust goes up a little bit every month, it depends mostly. I’ve had months where I grow two sizes, I’ve had months where I stay the same.”
Macromastia, also known as Gigantomastia or , can occur randomly, during puberty, , or after taking .
The breast growth can occur over the course of a few years, but there have been some cases of macromastia where a woman’s breasts grew three or more cup sizes within a few days.
Other symptoms include breast pain, posture problems, infections and back pain.
In some cases, the resolves on its own, but many sufferers will need to have or a mastectomy.
Summer claimed that she was a B cup by the age of 10, and by 16 she had grown to a double J, which forced her to rely on and pricey custom made bras.
Summer’s breasts are now estimated to weigh 25kg, which has placed a huge burden not only on her physical , but her too.
When discussing her condition, Summer said: “I had always put my condition down to just normal growing – it was only until I realised my friends around me had stopped years and years before me that it was a serious condition.”
The , who has 225,000 followers on , explained that she spent years searching for medical help in the form of a , but was repeatedly denied.

“I have been going to the doctors since I was 16 about my boobs and only a few years ago I actually got diagnosed,” she added.
And when it comes to catcalling and judgemental stares, Summer has experienced it all.
She admitted: “I’ve had a man touching himself in front of me on the subway, I’ve had grown men grope me at work and say I’m asking for it wearing , I once had a group of around five guys circle around me at the gym just staring at me .”
But if you thought that was bad, think again, as Summer, who finds it hard to “dress up” her body, even had a woman throw a drink over her because her was gawping at her large chest.
What does breast reduction surgery involve?
The surgery is carried out under general anaesthetic and will typically involve the following process:
- moving the nipple to its new position, typically while it is still attached to the blood supply
- removing excess fat, skin and glandular tissue from the breast
- reshaping the remaining tissue in the breast
- The operation typically takes between 90 minutes and four hours and most women are left with a scar around the nipple or along the breast crease.
Recovery takes two to six weeks and you should avoid strenuous exercise for six weeks after the operation.
What are the alternatives to breast reduction surgery?
It can be possible to reduce the issues caused by having larger boobs, such as:
- losing weight
- having a professional bra-fitting service to reduce discomfort
- physiotherapy to help with aches and pains
- psychological support to help cope with emotional issues
Despite this, Summer recognised that despite the cruel comments and vile harassment she has received, she feels “lucky” to be have “lots of friends and family” who support her.
Nowadays, the size 10, 4ft11ins fashion fan has learned to enjoy the novelty of having .
She even joked it could be “cool” to become “one walking boob.”
Opening up on her body confidence “journey” and her future hopes, Summer acknowledged that her “biggest mission” is trying to “feel comfortable” in clothes.
Despite this, Summer boasted: “I love my body, my body has never been the problem – I wish I could walk about naked and everyone see how much I love it.”
