THE body of a young woman who drowned at sea was found on a beach 160 miles away from her home.

Eliza Chaudhry drowned and her body was found at Porthkerry Beach in Barry, .

It’s not known how the 21-year-old ended up in the water – just west of famous Barry Island – on April 8.

Her body was found more than 160 miles from her village Kings Langley, in Hertfordshire.

Eliza was identified by her aunt the next day.

Coroner’s officer Joanne Webb said her death was reported by .

She said: “Eliza Chaudhry, a 21-year-old female, was found immersed in water at Porthkerry Beach, Barry on April 8.

“The pathologist has provided a provisional cause of death as immersion in water.”

Coroner Graeme Hughes said: “Those circumstances satisfy me that I have sufficient reason to suspect Miss Chaudhry’s death was unnatural.”

A full inquest will take place at a later date.
