KIDS’ favourite character is returning to the screens with a feature-length film.
The Aussie cartoon that follows an energetic puppy will hit the big screen thanks to Disney and BBC Studios.

BBC Studios and Walt Disney Studios have announced on Thursday the exact premiere date for the highly-anticipated movie.
Bluey, beloved by children across 60 countries, will grace the cinemas on August 6, 2027.
The Emmy and Bafta-winning cartoon series first launched on Australian TV in 2018.
Bluey has since taken the world by storm, winning multiple awards and capturing the hearts and attention of youngsters across the globe.
Mixed reactions
The announcement of a full length movie has received mixed reactions from parents.
One person wrote: “Bluey Movie Coming to Theatres—Parents, Brace Yourselves.”
Another one added:”How the f*** can bluey be made into a movie?”
A third person said: “Don’t ruin Bluey.”
However, some people were more hopeful and excited about the release.
One user wrote: “Best news I’ll hear this week”.
One parent was perplexed with the long wait time for the premiere, saying: “Two more years for a Bluey movie??”
Original creators behind the movie
However, the storyline will be in the hands of the same creator Joe Brumm, who was behind the original series.
Joe said: “I really enjoyed the experience of working with a longer format on ‘The Sign’ in Series 3, so going even further with a feature film feels like a natural extension of that.
“I’ve always thought Bluey deserved a theatrical movie. I want this to be an experiential event for the whole family to enjoy together.
“I’m excited to continue to partner with Cecilia Persson, Tom Fussell and the team at BBC Studios, and Dana Walden, Alan Bergman and Disney to bring this new Bluey story to the big screen.”
The movie will be produced by Ludo Studio in collaboration with BBC Studios.
The CG-animated feature will be produced by Amber Naismith who has credits on smash hits such as Happy Feet and the LEGO Movie.
Richard Jeffery, who worked on Bluey between series one and three, will return to co-direct the movie.

Earlier this year, Bluey called the “The Sign”.
Usually, Bluey episodes air for seven minutes and it was the first time the show released a longer episode.

BLUEY has become a fan-favourite series across the globe. Created and released on ABC in Australia, it also airs internationally on Disney+.
The series follows the Heelers, an adorable dog family living in Australia. Bluey takes the lead alongside her mum Chilli, dad Bandit and sister Bingo.
Bluey has become essential viewing for preschoolers and their parents.
Shown in 60 countries across the world, it was the most-streamed series in January and February and the second most viewed programme in the US in 2023.
It has even attracted a host of famous fans.
Hollywood actresses and have made cameos and Aussie stars and have voiced a spin-off audiobook.
On why the family show is so popular, Dannii has said: “There is life before Bluey, and life after. Once you know Bluey . . . you are hooked.
“It is fun for so many ages, as we can all relate to different members of Bluey’s family.”
Its success has also spawned a theme park in , its own land at Alton Towers and stage show spin-offs.
