REALITY TV star Kate Lawler has revealed she’s on antidepressants as she opened up on her mental health battle away from the spotlight in a brave video.
told fans she found it hard to say she was on medication for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) out loud but she reassured them it was “absolutely fine” to acknowledge.

As Mental Health Week comes to a close the alum took to Instagram to open up on her diagnosis.
She said: “It’s Awareness Week so it feels like the right time to tell you that my brain sometimes feels like it’s being paid to worry.
“And I recently decided to finally take antidepressants for my health anxiety. I’m on Citalopram.
“That feels like a very grown-up thing to say out loud. But yeah, I had post-natal depression five years ago and I live with GAD. I’m basically a walking case study.”

Kate continued: “In all seriousness I am sharing this because I think it’s important to know what poor looks like… It’s feeling constantly on edge, overthinking everything, being tired in your brain.
“Smiling and joking on the outside when your mind is doing the complete opposite.”
explained that talking about mental health had helped her massively.
She begged fans not to wait till they “hit rock bottom” to speak to someone saying “you’re allowed to ask for help earlier.”
Kate said: “You’re not being dramatic. You’re not weak, you’re human.”
Fans rushed to the comments to thank Kate for speaking out.
One fan penned: “Thank you for being so open about your mental health it is a brave thing to do. I am grateful, I also have mental illness and very few people would know.”

During a chat on their podcast Boj and Kate Have a Lot on their Plate , she confessed her age and how much the pair can handle are also factors in the decision.
Kate said she’s hoping that when she’s older, Noa, now four, will realise that having another baby “would have stretched me emotionally and mentally”.
