The Executive Secretary of the Benue State Emergency Management Agency, BSEMA, Sir James Iorpuu, has refurbished a critical security vehicle to support surveillance and emergency response operations in Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, camps in the state.

The ceremony was performed on Wednesday at the agency’s premises in Makurdi.

The refurbished vehicle is expected to improve mobility and response time for security personnel tasked with patrolling and safeguarding SEMA facilities and IDP camps across the state.

This initiative is part of a broader effort by the agency to reinforce safety measures and provide a more secure environment for displaced families.

Sir Iorpuu said the gesture aligns with the agency’s commitment to ensuring the welfare and protection of vulnerable citizens amid rising security concerns in various parts of the state.

He said the agency has continued to implement practical steps not only to provide humanitarian support but also to foster a stable and protected atmosphere in and around displacement camps.

The refurbished security vehicle is seen as a symbol of proactive governance and a renewed focus on the safety of those affected by conflict and crisis in the region.

Some of the IDPs’ camp security personnel present expressed gratitude to Sir Iorpuu for the gesture and promised to make prudent use of the vehicle.
