The Commissioners of Police for Benue and Enugu states, CP Emenari Ifeanyi Innocent and CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, have reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing joint security initiatives aimed at addressing the increasing incidence of cross-border criminal activities between the two states.
This decision was made during a high-level operational meeting that took place in Benue State on Tuesday, October 29, 2025.
The session brought together senior officers from both police commands to evaluate current security challenges and formulate stronger collaborative strategies.
In a joint statement released by the Police Public Relations Officers, SP Daniel Ndukwe and DSP Edet Udeme, both commissioners pointed out that the infiltration of criminal organizations and their collaboration with certain unpatriotic individuals in border communities are significant factors contributing to interstate crimes.
