Ironically, Gurney proved he had the determination to succeed and managed to silence the crowd, who were cheering for his opponent.
Gurney stated, “In my opinion, she’s the best female player in the world.
“If there’s going to be a dart player who can win the World Championship or any major titles, she’s the one to look up to.
“Even from a male perspective, that woman has immense courage. What a dart player. What a dart player.
“Many were saying she was the favorite going into the match, but I demonstrated my skills and composure to cross the finish line.
“I told Beau at the end, honestly, the only thing that separated us was the 144.
“I missed a 148 and a few others, and I thought to myself, you absolute something head!
“At 2-1 up, I thought don't let her have a chance. I missed those doubles.
“But credit to you, Beau. The crowd here should respect Beau Greaves because next year she will be a formidable competitor.
“She is going to win some PDC tournaments.”
