The winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, has rejected allegations that she utilized a pity strategy to elicit public sympathy and secure votes during her time in the Big Brother house.
In an interview with Arise TV, the 23-year-old reality star clarified that she had minimal time to prepare for the show after receiving her acceptance email.
She explained that everything transpired so rapidly that she simply packed what she had available without extensive planning.
“I didn’t enter with a pity strategy. I didn’t even think I would be selected for the show. When I received the email, I had only a few days to pack. I was in Ijebu at that moment, so I took all the costumes I had to my sister, and then we began planning,” Imisi stated.
The BBNaija winner also mentioned that her clothing selections on the show mirrored her actual style, emphasizing that there was nothing calculated or strategic about her choices.
“I didn’t have time to return home, and even if I did, I believe I would have taken only a few items because most of the outfits I wore in the house are what I typically wear outside. That’s just who I am,” she elaborated.
