The Bauchi State Government has announced that the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is now compulsory for all students in both public and private schools across the state.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Public Relations Officer of the State Ministry of Education, Mr. Jalaludeen Usman.

Usman explained that the directive aims to ensure that every student completing basic education acquires the necessary certification to support future academic advancement.

He said that the BECE certificate is a critical requirement for entry into senior secondary schools and other higher learning institutions.

“Ensuring that students obtain this certificate will solidify their academic foundation and adequately prepare them for the next phase of their education,”;; he stated.

The PRO added that the policy is part of the broader reforms being implemented under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed to enhance the quality of education across the state.

“It’s also geared towards equipping young people with the credentials and skills they need to succeed both academically and professionally,”;; he said.

The ministry urged parents, guardians and school administrators to ensure that all eligible students are properly registered and take part in the examination.
