HARRY KANE is the No1 target for Barcelona next summer.

As reported by The Guardian , the Catalans will seek a replacement for , whose contract expires at the end of the season.

That could open up a move to the Camp Nou for .

The England captain has a release clause of £57 million in the summer, something a number of clubs will no doubt be interested in.

Kane has been a brilliant signing for , having notched 108 goals in 113 matches, including scoring ten hat-tricks.

But with 23 goals in 17 games across all competitions so far this season, Kane is in the form of his life.

Of these goals, 13 have come in the in just ten matches.

The record-holder for most number of goals in a Bundesliga season is Lewandowski, who scored 41 in 2020/21.

That eclipsed Gerd Muller’s previous record of 40 in 1971/72.

Kane could be in line to smash that record this season if he continues in his current rich vein of form.

As much as and Bayern would love for him to stay beyond 2026, the lure of may well be too much to resist.

There’s a sense of deja vu about the situation as well.

Just after the World Cup finishes, Kane will turn 33 – the same age as Lewandowski was when he moved from Munich to Barcelona in the summer of 2022.

With over 700 career goals, Lewandowski is a phenomenon.

Having worked under many top coaches including Jugen Klopp, , Carlo Ancelotti and Xavi, it’s current Barca boss Hansi Flick who has unlocked the best version of him.

The Pole has scored 132 times in 135 games under Flick at Bayern and Barca combined, including a hat-trick in his last game – Barca’s 4-2 win away to Celta Vigo on Sunday night in .

Manchester United loanee set up two of these goals.

German boss Flick would no doubt love to manage Kane, and his ultra-attacking football would have the former Spurs striker scoring every week just as Lewandowksi has for him.

Although the Spanish champions have been linked with a number of strikers including Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy and even Manchester City’s , Kane would be the best choice of the lot.

Lewandowski has been a huge success at Barcelona over the past three years with 108 goals in 159 games. During this time, the Blaugrana have won two La Liga titles.

This had laid a blueprint for the club to follow, and should they go in for Kane – also of Bayern – he guarantees a similar return and more.

Kane’s all-round game suits Barcelona’s style to a tee.

That includes his exceptional passing range. Playing for a club whose philosophy is based around keeping possession would be perfect.

Plus, if the club decide exercise their option to buy Rashford for around £26million, Kane may be excited to play with his England team-mate at club level.

Rashford has been back to his best so far this season with 15 direct goal involvements (six goals and nine assists) in 16 games.

Barca have a St George’s cross as part of their flag, and next season their attack could be filled with two English stars.

The Kane transfer in particular makes a lot of sense.
