According to garden centre Dobies, the Salix flamingo trees are perfect for adding a “splash of colour”;; to the garden, and are perfect if you’ve got a smaller green space thanks to their compact size.
“This Salix is at its best from March until May, a subtle yet powerful explosion of colour to keep your eye on,”;; they said, adding that as Autumn approaches, it changes to show off “fantastic warm orange tones... continuing the ultimate display”;;.
It’s said to grow to around 2 metres high, and also spreads to approximately two metres as well.
“Grow in a sunny or partially shaded position, in any well drained soil,”;; they added.
