Ballon d’Or 2025: Marquinhos names player to win award

Paris Saint-Germain star, Marquinhos has named the player who really deserves to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or award.

The Brazilian believes that his teammate, Ousmane Dembélé deserves the most prestigious individual award in football.

Marquinhos chanted Dembèlè’s name during PSG’s open-top bus victory parade in Paris on Sunday.

In a historic fashion, PSG walloped Inter Milan 5-0 in Munich to claim their first ever Champions League trophy on Saturday.

At noon, the French Ligue1 giants held a lengthy open-top bus parade through the city, running from the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe.

During the parade, Marquinhos, who is the French side’s captain, chanted: “Ousmané, BALLON D’OR! Ousmané, BALLON D’OR!”;

Winning the Champions League has further brightened Dembèlè’s chances of winning the Ballon d’Or this year.

The France International scored 33 goals and provided 15 assists in 49 games across competitions this campaign.

Meanwhile, he played down being interested in winning the award ahead of the final.
