She spoke about her country, telling viewers: “I used to live in , it’s such a wonderful city.”
She added: “It’s full of art, full of wonderful people, so yeah… it’s so sad.”
But it’s what happened next that left viewers open-mouthed.
Just seconds later, Alison made an annoucement to tell the bakers that they were halfway through their challenge.
Alison shouted: “Bomb, bomb, bomb. Ladies and gentlemen, you are halfway through.”
She beamed at the camera, blissfully unaware of the mistake she just made.
The editing gaffe made Alison seem unsensitive to the war in Ukraine as she had repeated the word “bomb”.
Viewers rushed to social media to react to the awkward blunder.

Whereas, 30-year-old scientist Hassan was the first to be eliminated from the competition after his Swiss roll creation collapsed.
However, a new twist left viewers fuming after the technical challenge was way too difficult.

The bakers were given the chance to taste-test a fondant fancy to figure out what had been used.
One fan said: “Why have they made the technical so much harder… I don’t like it.”
Another wrote: “No recipe. Extraneous ingredients. This technical is evil!”
A third commented: “Seems a very harsh technical. Especially for week one.”
