"Am I a Bad Mom for Craving a Night Out? The Reality of Needing a Break from Parenting"

A MOTHER has clapped back at parents who are “obsessed” with their kids and shared her love of child-free nights out drinking.

Lucy Alexandra, a from , explained that while she “idolises” her , she confirmed that she “needs a break” from him sometimes.

Posting on , the hit back at mothers who struggle to be away from their children for just one night – but she’s left parents very divided.

As she sat in her car, Lucy said: “This is what’s wrong with a lot of s**t in this day and age – , fully f*****g obsessed and it’s too much.”

Lucy stressed the importance of letting a child “be free” from their parents for a night, which she claimed will do them “the world of good.”

While she recognised that “everyone has different opinions” on this, she admitted that she feels “blessed” and “can’t wait” to spend time away from her son for .

The mother explained that she is “so excited” for an upcoming Saturday evening away with her friend, as she beamed: “I can’t wait to not have to do , I can’t wait to get up whenever the f**k I want, I can’t wait to watch my own s**t on , what I want to watch for a change.”

As well as being able to have a lay-in and enjoy whatever she desires on TV, Lucy confessed that she “won’t” be thinking about getting home to her son whilst away.

Not only this, but Lucy also snapped: “Whoever’s having him can have him for the day after as well, so I can do whatever the f**k I want on the Sunday too.”

Clapping back to , the woman added: “Call me a s**t mum, call me what you want – my kid, I idolise him, he’s my absolute world – sometimes? Absolutely, I do yeah.”

Lucy then said she thinks it is “absolutely bonkers” and “not healthy” to “obsess over children.”

As she tucked into a burger, Lucy continued: “I know I’m gonna get s**t in the comments from all you mums that can’t bear to be away from your kids – I’m a , so do I wanna go out on a weekend and have a bit of fun? Yeah, by that I mean let my down and have a few drinks.”

Lucy’s clip, which was posted under the username @ lucymawson92 , has clearly left many open-mouthed as it has quickly racked up 36,700 views in just two days.

But Lucy left social media users by her clip – while many couldn’t agree more with her, lots of mums were not on the same page.

One mum wrote: “I look forward to a night to myself and getting a lie in.”

Another parent shared: “Girl I’m so with you. How are these parents expecting their kids to live in the world?! , it’s so good for them!”

Whilst someone else beamed: “Omg yes!!! Everyone needs a break, a blow out as I call it!! Hate these folk just crippled to death with because they are away from their kids.”

But at the same time, many were quick to disagree, as one person said: “Imagine waiting years to conceive and then you finally get a and you’re not allowed to be obsessed with them… I respect your views and decisions and you should respect ours.”

Another added: “What’s wrong with loving your child and wanting to be with them and not missing a thing?”

A third commented: “I haven’t had a night out in 10 years. I’m just happier at with them.”

Meanwhile, one mother explained: “I’m obsessed with my child and I don’t care because this is the I chose.”
