A BABY has been seriously injured after a van struck three stationary vehicles in a hit-and-run crash.
The horror collision took place on the Junction 29 slip road off the M6 northbound, at Bamber Bridge near Preston just before 4.30pm on Friday.
Cops are now hunting for a driver and passenger who ran away after their white Transit van hit two and a HGV vehicle.
A baby girl, a passenger in one of the cars, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where she remains at this time, said .
The driver and passenger of the Ford Transit Van made off at the scene with cops urgently trying to track them down.
Police added that the two van occupants who ran off may have serious injuries, saying “we are concerned for their welfare”.
Sgt Ben Elliott, of our Roads Policing Unit said: “A baby has been left seriously injured following this collision and our thoughts remain with her and her loved ones at this time.
“Extensive enquiries are ongoing to locate two men, the driver and passenger of the White Ford Transit van, and I can reassure you were are doing everything possible to find them.
“We are particularly concerned for them as we believe they sustained serious injuries in the collision, and strongly encourage them to come forward to us.
“I am appealing directly to you, the public, for your assistance. If you have dashcam or CCTV footage of the collision, please do get in touch with us.
“We are also aware that there may be people who witnessed the collision that we haven’t yet spoken to. If this is you, or if you know someone who was travelling on that road at the time, please let us know.”
