Oyo State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, has appealed to security agencies to investigate Saturday’s attack on the residence of a former deputy governor in the state, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi and other chieftains of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
APC made this appeal in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Wasiu Olawale Sadare.
DAILY POST gathered that no fewer than 25 members of PDP were injured during the local government congresses of the faction of the party loyal to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.

APC in its reaction, tasked security agencies such as the police and Department of State Service to investigate the matter.
Sadare who issued the statement on behalf of the party also advised the security agencies to arrest the culprits and their sponsors.
“While some sponsored thugs were moving round the venues of the supposed Local Government Area Congress to disrupt the exercise, an army of vicious hoodlums was mobilized and made to visit the Ibadan home of a chieftain of the party where they destroyed many cars and properties which cost was put at several billion of naira as they also inflicted varying degree of injuries on men and women who were believed to be loyal to the Nyesom Wike faction.
“However, we use this medium to call on the security agencies to investigate the development with a view to unmasking the attackers and their sponsors as we cannot afford to go back to the era of full scale political war in the hands of the PDP elements in the state,” the statement said.
