Atiku would’ve been a great president – Daniel Bwala

Published on July 02, 2025 at 09:28 AM

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, has said former Vice President Atiku Abubakar would have been a great president if he had won previous elections.

The presidential spokesman spoke in a yet-to-be-released interview with Chude Jideonwo.

Bwala, however, expressed doubts if Atiku, who was the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 election, would have been greater than his present boss.

He said, “Atiku would have been a great president, but whether he would have been greater than Bola Tinubu, I doubt that.”;

Bwala also took a whip at the former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, saying that the latter is suffering from an identity crisis.

According to him, Obi, who was the Labour Party flagbearer in the last election, is an “opportunistic politician”; because he is yet to define his identity in politics.

“The problem with Mr. Peter Obi is what we call the identity crisis. Peter Obi has not defined his identity in politics, so he finds himself like an opportunistic politician,”; he said.
