UK Faces New Asbestos Recall Crisis: 12 Toys Removed from Shelves Amid Latest Safety Alert

TWELVE toys have been included in a fresh wave of asbestos recalls in the UK.

Consumers are urged to stop using the items immediately and keep them out of reach of children.

A number of products have been today by The Office for Product Safety & Standards as the items pose a serious health risk.

All the affected products contain that may be contaminated with small quantities of asbestos.

14 items have been recalled today, including 12 toys and doorstops.

The substance is banned in the UK as it poses risks to health, even at low levels of exposure.

Due to the traces of found in the products, all the affected items do not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.

Any customers who have bought one of the affected items should stop using the product immediately and keep it out of reach of children.

According to advice given on PMS international , consumers should “place the items in a heavy-duty plastic bag, double tape it securely, label it clearly and store in a secure location out of reach of children”.

If any of the sand has been spilt, the area should be cleaned up using wet cloths to prevent the generation of dust.

Anyone cleaning up the sand should wear gloves and a mask.

Any items worn or used when cleaning up the asbestos-laced sand should also be double-bagged.

Customers who has bought one of the affected items should return the product to the store where it was purchased to receive a refund.
