Arsenal transfer boost as Mykhailo Mudryk admits he would pick Gunners move over Real Madrid

ARSENAL transfer target Mykhailo Mudryk admits he would pick the Gunners over Real Madrid.

The Ukraine international has caught the eye this season with his impressive performances in the Champions League.

Mykhailo Mudryk would pick Arsenal over Real Madrid

Arsenal wanted to sign him in the summer and could reignite their interest in the winger in January.

And it appears Mudryk, 21, would be very keen on joining.

He has previously praised Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta and now admits he could choose the Premier League leaders over Real Madrid.

Mudryk told  Vlada Sedan’s YouTube channel: “From a purely hypothetical perspective if there was the option of being a bench player for Real Madrid or a starter for Arsenal, I’d probably choose Arsenal.

“But it’s a tough question and involves a lot of factors in my answer.

“I would first want to know from the head coach that even if I wasn’t a guaranteed starter, that I’d receive a chance.

“Essentially I need to hear directly from the manager what he envisages my role in his side to be.”

Arsenal are reportedly in talks with Shakhtar Donetsk over a deal for Mudryk.

Shakhtar have publicly demanded £86million for their star and they say he is on the same level as Jack Grealish, who joined Manchester City at the start of last season for £100m.

The Ukrainian club’s director of football, Darijo Srna, said: “Who wants to sign Mudryk has to pay big amount of money — otherwise our president will not sell him.

“Jack Grealish was sold for more than 100m and Mudryk’s level is not lower.”
