TOTTENHAM are working to sign teen star Kyran Thompson from Arsenal.

Thompson, 16, has been with the Gunners academy for the past two years after they brought him in from .

want the forward to pen scholarship terms at the end of this month – but he looks set to leave.

And Tottenham are leading the race for Thompson as they bid to snap up the youngster from their bitter rivals.

Arsenal will be gutted to lose the talented teenager, who has trained with the first team and featured regularly for the under-18 side.

Thompson’s departure is not set in stone and the Gunners do have another week to force a u-turn.

It comes at a time when Arsenal are also fighting to keep hold of fellow academy star Emerson Nwaneri, whose older brother, Ethan, plays for the first team.

Emerson, 15, has been tipped to follow in Ethan’s footsteps but is attracting interest from other Premier League clubs before signing scholarship terms.

Arsenal are going through a period of change in their academy after the department’s manager, , left earlier this year.

The club are working to appoint a successor to oversee the setup and they will report directly to sporting director Andrea Berta.

Arsenal want to bolster their academy teams with signings this summer after poor performances over the past few years.
