ARSENAL fans have said that the right-back position at the club is cursed after Louie Copley was forced off injured in a pre-season clash.

The Gunners were taking on LaLiga outfit in Dublin when the young defender suffered the horror injury.

Copley, 19, was for just nine minutes before his studs got stuck in the Aviva Stadium pitch.

He was trying to protect the ball from one of the Betis players when his foot awkwardly got stuck.

Copely fell to the ground and required medical assistance on the pitch.

He was able to hobble off to the sidelines with the help of the medical staff.

He appeared to have hurt his knee.

And fans watching on are now convinced the right-back spot at the club is cursed as they reacted on social media.

One posted: “Our RB position might be the most cursed in the sport. Even sticking an academy midfielder there results in a knee injury.”

A second commented: “Louie Copley is off injured.”

The Gunners have faced issues in the right-back department with star man Jurrien Timber currently sidelined.

The Dutchman missed the World Cup with a groin injury that saw him miss the final two months of the Premier League season.

He also suffered a which saw him return to London from the club’s training camp in Spain.
